It is with great pleasure that we welcome you to our school. Freestone is a small rural school where each and every student is valued. We are immensely proud of our small school and endeavour to maintain the pride that the community has in its most valuable resource. When parents enrol their children at this school we enter into an important partnership between student, parent and staff.

We believe that by working together we will achieve the best educational outcome for your child. Parents are their child’s first teachers and the supportive messages they give to their child regarding education and schooling are so important. We invite parents to be involved and encourage regular communication with the parents via a range of mediums such as; informal chats, messages and updates in communication books or student diaries, text messages, e-mails, newsletters as well as more formal parent teacher interviews and report cards.

It is our belief that parents want to be informed not only about academic achievement but also about the social and emotional wellbeing of their child. In turn we encourage parents to keep us up to date with information that could affect the ability of their child to have a successful day at school. Our mission is to understand the individual needs of our students and offer all students a safe and supportive learning environment where there is mutual respect and willingness to always make an effort to do the best that we can.

Our school delivers quality educational opportunities through a multi-age setting. We believe that strong literacy, numeracy and social skills are essential and we are committed to improving outcomes in these areas through targeted programs and explicit teaching. We believe that with support and effort between students, parents and staff everyone has the ability to achieve success.
